Les Jardins du Luxembourg
I wanted chairs by the fountain and chestnuts in bloom. I wanted April and sailboats and ice cream dripping down my arm. I wanted the frail man who walked alone and the pigeons too fat to fly; the blind girl and the stale bread. Even the shade that came too soon.
